(Fort Smith, Arkansas, December 19, 1997) - Peggy Lawrence has been named Vice President of ABF Freight System's Sales and Information Center. In making the announcement, ABF Vice President-Sales Walter Willard said the appointment was effective January 1, 1998.

Ms. Lawrence has directed the center since its beginning in 1987. The Pennsylvania native is a graduate of Slippery Rock College in Pennsylvania. She came to ABF from another major carrier and had previously worked in sales and telemarketing for three other carriers.

ABF is one of the nation's largest motor carriers with direct interstate and intrastate service to all 50 states, nine Canadian provinces, and Puerto Rico. They also provide single-bill seamless service to 162 other countries through 302 port cities.
