ABF President's Quality Awards

The ABF Quality Process was initiated in 1984, based upon the principles of Philip Crosby & Associates. The goal is to consistently meet the agreed-upon requirements of internal and external customers and achieve total customer satisfaction through error-free work. Every ABF employee participates in the Quality Process.

The Fargo, North Dakota, service center, covers one acre. It has a paved yard, 2,800 square feet of dock space, 480 square feet of office space, and 13 dock doors. The branch manager is Bryan Bartz. Richard Jensen is sales representative. Ericka Franklin and Twila Nohrenberg are clerks.

The Fort Wayne, Indiana, service center covers 6.3 acres. It has a paved yard, gravel yard, 15,000 square feet of dock space, 8,000 square feet of office space, 44 dock doors, and yard and dock scales. Gary Jacob is branch manager. James Bobay, Maurice Getts and John Smith are operations supervisors. Michael Krafft is senior account executive. Philip Moore is sales representative. Carla Clifford, Susan Dykstra, and Linda Runion are clerks.

The South Bend, Indiana, service center covers 4.2 acres. It has a paved yard, 16,000 square feet of dock space, 500 square feet of office space, 41 dock doors, and a dock scale. Ron Woolman is branch manager. Charles Bobbitt, John Bryan, Carrie Henry, and Scott Strang are operations supervisors. Jim Converse and Ed Rogers are senior account executives. Michael Pfannerstill is sales representative. Debra Anders, Robert Claffey, Michael Crance, and Geraldine Frame are clerks.

The Kansas City, Kansas, service center covers 15.8 acres. It has a paved yard, 44,240 square fee of dock space, 19,523 square feet of shop space, 7,350 square feet of office space, 100 dock doors, on-site fuel storage, and dock and yard scales. Jeff Slobodnik is branch manager. Terry Oswald is district sales manager. Bruce Johnson is manager of line operations. Greg Leighty is operations manager. Larry Ochs is regional manager of safety. Katie Roumas is office manager. Phil Anderson, Ron Conrad, Don Curless, and Geoff Williams are linehaul supervisors. Dale Craciunoiu, Ronald Duncan, Lloyd Gordon, David Hartley, Harold Hudson, Charles Johnson, Robert Keefe, Jeff Thompson, and Richard Wineinger are operations supervisors. Lawrence Griffin is regional maintenance supervisor. Harry Klaus and Kenneth Thornton are shop supervisors. Nathan Moore and Frank Stedem are senior account executives. Kendal Hollingshead is sales representative. David Baker is weighing and research analyst. Susan Edwards, Teresa Hahn, Christine Hooper-George, Sherri Hunley, Sherry Jett, Carla Joiner, Shauna Kirtley, Janet Oryall, Margaret Watson, and Nakia Word are clerks.
