Background Data -

ABF Freight System, Inc.®

ABF® handles 23,000 shipments a day. Each year, it moves goods valued at approximately $16 billion. Yet, less than one percent of the shipments it handled during the past decade sustained a loss or damage. No other national carrier comes close to matching its record.

ABF operates one of the newest, best-maintained fleets on the road—1,600 road tractors, 2,700 city tractors, and more than 17,000 trailers. Strategically located throughout North America, ABF’s customer-service and distribution centers facilitate a network of freight handling efficiency.

ABF employs 13,000 people, including 7,000 drivers. Its core business is less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping, consolidating freight from multiple shippers into a single truckload. However, the carrier has the ability, means, and expertise to handle virtually any shipping challenge.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is president of Endemol USA. The series executive producer is Tom Forman. It premiered December 3, 2003, on the ABC Television Network.

The members of the design team who work their creative magic on the homes are team leader and carpenter Ty Pennington, Paul DiMeo (carpentry/nuts and bolts), Paige Hemmis (carpentry/creativity), Tracy Hutson (shopping/style), Michael Moloney (interiors/glamour), Constance Ramos (building/planning) and Preston Sharp (exteriors/big ideas).
