Selling Power Again Ranks ABF Among the "Best Companies to Sell For"

(FORT SMITH, Ark., November 30, 2005) — ABF Freight System, Inc.®, has been named as one of the top six U.S. companies to sell for in the service sector by Selling Power magazine. This is the fourth consecutive year ABF® has been recognized in this select group, placing among the top 10 each year.

"We certainly are pleased that ABF has once again been recognized as a nationwide benchmark for recruiting, training and equipping knowledgeable sales professionals." says ABF President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Davidson. "ABF is known for the best sales team in the transportation business, and it's nice to see the external confirmation. In today's evolving world of logistics, shippers and receivers face rapidly changing supply-chain challenges and demands. Our employees, particularly our sales representatives, are trained to serve as business consultants, prepared and empowered to respond with innovative solutions."

Each year, the Selling Power research team identifies and ranks the best companies to sell for in the U.S., particularly companies with sales forces of 500 or more salespeople. Assessments are based on compensation, training and career mobility. Companies are classified in two general industry groups - manufacturing and service. Overall scores are compiled and the top 25 of each group are named to the '50 Best Companies to Sell For' list. "Anyone entering the sales field should start by taking a good look at these top companies," says the November/December issue of Selling Power.

Established in 1923, ABF is one of North America's oldest and most reputable motor carriers.
