Dave Schmuecker came to ABF with the Carolina acquisition, having already won a place on the 1995 America's Road Team. He has driven 1.6 million miles without a chargeable accident and ticket-free, during his 14-year career.

A Nebraska native, Dave works out of the South Chicago terminal and lives in Indiana. He won the 1995 Indiana Master Driver Award from the Indiana Motor Carriers Association.

In 1986, he was Nebraska's Grand Champion in that state's Truck Driving Championship where he won first place in the Flatbed Division. He was the 1987 Driver of the Year for Silvey Refrigerated Carriers in Omaha, and in 1988 was a member of the President's Safe Driver Club of the Nebraska Motor Carriers Association.
