America's Road Team, sponsored by the American Trucking Associations, is a group of professional truck drivers with excellent safety records and outstanding communication skills. Founded in 1986, it is designed to reach out to both the trucking industry and the public at large. America's Road Team has reached millions of Americans with the message that "Safety is our driving concern."

The name, America's Road Team, was selected to represent the more than five million professional truck drivers employed in this country, and to serve as a rallying point for the spirit of dedication and teamwork necessary to deliver America's freight safely and on time.

In addition to answering questions about what the trucking industry is doing to improve highway safety and reduce accidents, Road Team spokesmen provide safe-driving tips and offer advice for sharing the road with a truck.

Within the industry, Road Team spokesmen meet with fellow drivers, truck-driver training students and safety managers, and appear at truck shows and truck stops. They speak to executives at industry meetings and conventions, and participate in truck driving championships, motor carrier safety banquets and driver awards programs. In those forums, Road Team spokesmen encourage future and fellow drivers to demonstrate daily professionalism and courtesy on the nation's highways.
