The Load Team consists of the top freight-handling professionals from distribution centers across ABF's North American network. In addition to showing appreciation for these exceptional individuals, the Load Team program was established in order to draw upon these dock employees' experience as team members come to Fort Smith each year to share information with officers and department heads regarding dock procedures and equipment. Members are selected by Branch Managers and Regional Vice Presidents of Operations from a list of eligible employees based on their safety record, involvement in the Quality Process, integrity, and ability to load trailers "high and tight," thereby moving more shipments in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
Wes Kemp, ABF's Vice President-Operations, commented, "We greatly appreciate the work of these exceptionally talented individuals and their contribution to ABF's success. They're the best of the best. In addition to their outstanding work, they also serve as outstanding role models for other employees. Load Team members epitomize ABF's commitment to meeting the needs of our customers through safe and efficient freight handling."
