Dedicated Web site developed with eCenter

Our claims ratio is the best of all major LTL carriers. And our advanced automated billing system assures accurate invoicing. Still, our customers expect more.

An entertainment company, for example, wanted to give its store managers a unique ability to track an important shipment of lockers. The stores are in the business of renting entertainment equipment, such as DVD players and computer game consoles. The lockers were needed to provide secure storage.

Tracking shipments wasn’t something the store managers did routinely. If the need arose, they would simply contact the source of the shipment, which would then contact the carrier. In this case, however, that’s not what the company wanted. So they asked ABF to establish a transparent link that would allow their managers to track shipments in real time from a dedicated Web site.

Real-time tracking helped the store managers identify potential problems and virtually eliminate returns. For instance, many smaller stores were unable to accommodate the standard-size lockers shipped to them. Thanks to the dedicated Web site, these shipments were rerouted prior to delivery, and properly sized lockers then were shipped to the original destinations.
