Teamwork and strategic support yields success

Comprehensive home renovation typically takes four months to complete, even for the most skilled craftsmen. So imagine being told you have to compress all the tasks — interior, exterior, landscaping, everything — into a seven-day timetable.

 

That’s the challenge facing the production team of ABC Television Network’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Each episode features an entire house being renovated within seven days from start to finish. Every project is a struggle requiring phenomenal coordination and logistical management to meet the looming deadline.

The show chronicles the production team’s effort to transform the homes of deserving families confronting difficult circumstances: a man called into service in Iraq must leave his wife and three sons behind in a recently purchased fixer-upper house; a freak storm floods the home of a selfless humanitarian of modest means; a couple with two young children learn they have triplets on the way.
